Trade actions & notices — what actually changed

Every action we record is sorted into four kinds, because a changed sentence is not a changed tax — and a started process is not a decision. 904 distinct events on record; an event that touches several codes is counted once, and code counts are always reported separately from event counts.

Type A Rate changes

266

A duty rate was set or changed. For AD/CVD these rates are company-specific and never join the general tariff stack.

Type B Scope & list changes

96

What is covered changed — a product scope, a country condition, an exclusion, or a name on a list. Not automatically a rate increase.

Type C Wording-only changes

0

Description or statistical wording changed. Not a rate change, and never a reason to panic.

Type D Administrative & procedural actions

542

A process started or moved — an investigation or review was initiated, a window to request a review opened, or a review was rescinded. Nothing was decided: no rate changed and no coverage changed. These are never treated as urgent.
